A doughnut chart that shows results of an LGM survey

Yesterday, during the blog’s 20th Birthday & Annual Day of Donations, I ran a survey that asked readers how they found their way to Lawyers, Guns & Money, your source for intelligent, insightful commentary, ketchup hatred and fresh interpretations of classic tunes.

Of the readers who replied to the Google Form survey, the majority (64%) arrived via another blog. That tracks with my experience, although I couldn’t say which blog is to blame. I think it was more that LGM kept cropping up in the blog rolls of other blogs that I visited. Like your average busybody liberal I just had to go see what all the fuss was about and where we are.

But 16% of readers don’t remember how they found out about the blog. I take this as another reminder that drinking and internet surfing do not mix.

Here are the results in a more readable form.

How did you find Lawyers, Guns & Money?

  • Through another blog 64.02%
  • I don’t remember, I don’t recall 16.36%
  • Through another person (eg. friend, colleague, nemesis) 6.78%
  • Through another website (eg. Muck Rack) 3.74%
  • Searching for blogs 2.10%
  • Through a social media platform 1.87%
  • Other 1.64%
  • I know one or more front pager 1.64%
  • Searching for objectively despicable online communities 1.40%
  • Searching for the song “Lawyers, Guns & Money” 0.47%
