“The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA… the Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

Note: For this post I will skip the qualifying language and take Donald tRump’s nomination as a given.

I’ve noticed some increasingly fantastical defenses of journalists who create JOE BIDEN IS 3 years OLDer than his gibberfash spouting opponent articles. But we must remember that each article is the result of a number of people, including the journalists, making choices. Bad choices, but choices all the same.

They are also extremely weird choices. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the first time within the past 50 years (at least) that a one-term president was nominated to run against the incumbent who beat them. It means that every reporter who covers national U.S. politics has a rare chance to compare two presidents who are running for a second term. The journalists who hang out on Xitter could churn out endless articles comparing official POTUS’ Tweet/Xeets on a given day. Many reporters certainly seemed to enjoy the fact that Dump regularly threw semi-coherent, fully public tantrums at 3 a.m. when he was in office. Surely they want to relive the good times.

And February is a great month to compare the temperament of two presidents. In February 2020 tRump started to ramp up his deliberate interference with his administration’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Certainly you can criticize the official response, but the asshole that walks like a man chose to make everything worse at every opportunity. The headline for this post is from Feb. 24, 2020. The statement was based on horseshit and the belief that if he wishes it, it shall be so.

And here he is, wishing and horse shitting on Feb. 25, 2020

And Feb. 26, 2020

The 15 (cases in the US) within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero.”

This is a flu. This is like a flu.”

And so on. For months and months as the cases increased and health systems buckled and people died. CNN has a nice graphic that runs his claims that COVID will disappear against the number of reported cases in the U.S.

Of course, we will never know exactly how many people died of COVID in 2020 and later as a direct result of his refusal to keep his nasty, chapped lips shut. And there was a lot of related harm that is difficult to track. Such as people who couldn’t get appropriate care for another condition because their hospital was swamped. But it is extremely reasonable to say that the US would have had fewer COVID cases and deaths if that fucker had shut up and played golf.

However, he is three years younger than Joe Biden, so any whoopsiedoodles can be attributed to youthful exuberance.
