I’m still trying to process the fact that an Damar Hamlin was unable to breathe on his own after collapsing, and 1)the league’s first reaction was to give the players give minutes to warm up and 2)it took them more than an hour to call the game despite no news suggesting that his injury was any less serious. Injury is a risk of playing professional football but even a cursory look at the faces of the players should have told you that this was a highly unusual and horrible situation.

I hope Hamlin will pull through, but what a horrible situation. I will say that the ESPN studio crew (Suzi Kolber, Booger McFarland, and Adam Schefter) did a very good job calling out the league dealing with an impossible situation.

…as Paul discussed below, apparently the only reason the game didn’t resume is because Sean McDermott, Zac Taylor, and their players all told the league to eat shit:
