Michael Tracey says that calling Herschel Walker dumb is just racism

I know that paying any attention to what Michael Tracey says is a really bad habit that can possibly cause you to go blind, or grow hair on your palms like a werewolf (more about that very shortly), but I can’t resist offering up this amazing example of . . . something:

Countless I say!

Now it’s true that the opposite phenomenon — people getting credit for being smart because they talk with an Oxbridge accent for example — very much exists. And it’s very true that speaking with a heavy regional accent that features lots of colloquialisms doesn’t make Herschel Walker stupid. What makes Walker stupid is that he is extremely stupid.

You betcha! And that’s grading on a scale that includes Tommy Tuberville and Ron Johnson, to name just a couple of Walker’s possible soon-to-be colleagues. Is this because Walker got hit in the head too often, or because he’s always been a total doofus, or because of some multifactorial (that means lots of different stuff) process? I don’t know and I don’t care, but this is a guy who claims he saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic’s:

Choosing to rehash the plot of a film he said he recently watched late at night, whose title he remembered as “Fright Night, Freak Night, or some type of night”, he said in rambling remarks: “I don’t know if you know, but vampires are some cool people, are they not? But let me tell you something that I found out: a werewolf can kill a vampire. Did you know that? I never knew that.

“So, I don’t want to be a vampire any more. I want to be a werewolf.”

At this point I wanna be sedated.
