I have seen examples of Murc’s Law the kids today wouldn’t believe. But I’m not sure anything will ever top “FDR made Hitler into a Nazi”:

I guess when you’ve spent years taking the statements of Donald Trump, Josh Hawley, Bill Barr etc. as ironclad evidence if they confirm your priors (i.e. fascism > liberalism), doing it for Hitler is the only way to maintain the high. Little details like “the Holocaust clearly began on multiple fronts months before Pearl Harbor” can hardly be expected to intrude on the narrative.
