Right wing attempt to express concern about Black people goes as expected (Update – TODAY IN PARLIAMENT HAS NOW BECOME THE CLASSIC SERIAL)

It’s not impossible to lampoon the right wing, but anyone who tries should hold up a sign that reads JOKE so people will know that they’re witnessing intentional humor rather than the unintentional variety that humorless, vile people regularly stumble over.

And the parodists certainly have their work cut out for them. If someone were to sit down and create a spoof that is intended to show how right wing attempts to mime concern about Black people always backfire because they hate Black people, I’m not sure how they’d exceed Newsmax’s completely sincere and serious effort.

It’s not just that when asked to create a list of Black conservatives, the results were (from l-r): A man that TFG dumped like moldy bread. Remember when he thought he was going to be head of DHS? A man who is dead. The only good one. I guess. A man who is absolutely not Black. No, sorry, you can’t make us take him. And finally a man who has a recent connection to TFG and has been working the speaker circuit since he and his expensive furniture left HUD.

What makes this so hard to spoof is the fact that Newsmax passed over and intentionally or no gave two middle fingers to Black conservatives such as Sen. Tim Scott, SC Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, Hershel Walker and Candace Owens. Maybe they’re too uppity for Newsmax.

Update: Thanks to Commentarion J– for sharing the inevitable worsening of the thing that was already bad.

“But every time they tried I said ‘That’s not it’.”

It would be nice if the average Newsmax consumer who was just tuning into the clusterfuck looked at the pictures, read the chyron, thought “By Trump’s Sacred Combover, they’re letting those people be white now?” and exploded. However, that would require attention to detail, which gets in the way of being enraged about everything, even imaginary things.

This attempt to recast “Left Considers Black Conservatives to Be Traitors” as “Actually We’re Talking About White People Who Champion Black Causes” is another example of why the right wing is so difficult to parody: Normal people just aren’t that fucking lazy. A parodist would try to make things at least semi-coherent by switching the ratio of races or replace the original caption with something about Jewish people and Black people being the same, or something.

Instead, we get what happens when an angry, lazy person is trying to respond directly to everyone who is laughing at their first screw up and pretend it never happened. Result: Three Black men are reduced to unnamed causes (???) of which Ben Shapiro is the representative champion (?????) Who can say? Not whoever is considering making Shapiro’s picture several tones darker, that’s for sure.
