3/4 of Michigan Board of State Canvassers follow black letter law rather than participate in Donald Trump’s scheme to steal the election

In 2020, this is news:
IT’S OFFICIAL: Michigan Board of State Canvassers certifies the Nov. 3 election results.— Lauren Gibbons (@LaurenMGibbons) November 23, 2020
What remains frightening is that it is very clear that if the law in Michigan did afford the Republican members any discretion they would have used it to sow chaos and delay the certification.
Speaking of which:
Just in case anyone out there still mistakenly had sympathy for @GSAEmily, here she is dodging Congressional oversight, refusing to brief the whole House Committee, and then exploiting the pandemic to evade briefing the Senate. She’s not “conflicted,” she’s a bad person. https://t.co/rtLQFpeI86— Max Kennerly (@MaxKennerly) November 23, 2020
This is quite simply a giant “fuck you” to the people’s representatives from a civil servant undemocratically obstructing a presidential transition during a pandemic, and frankly it’s a problem that House Democrats weren’t already ready with subpoenas. It’s clear from the messages her aides (or “her aides”) sent to credulous reporters that she believes that she should be allowed to subvert American democracy in peace, and if only pour encourager les autres it is imperative for House Dems to do their best to ensure this doesn’t happen.
Among other things, Michigan’s certification of electors takes away the last possible ground on which @GSAEmily could have plausibly refused to “ascertain” that @JoeBiden is the “apparent” winner of the election held on November 3.
It’s time for her to do her duty — or resign.— Steve Vladeck (@steve_vladeck) November 23, 2020
