In the thread on cop media from a couple of days ago, a few people in comments mentioned how cops in early films were not portrayed as heroes, but rather were often bumbling idiots. This reminded me one of the very first images of the police on film. This is the 25 second film from 1900, How They Rob Men in Chicago. This is the greatest 25 second film ever made, not to mention a great window into how people saw the police at that time. You are welcome.
