“Jupiter’s Bride”
  • Here’s a marinade I love to use on pork, chicken and fish. There’s a little nod to Mexico in it, which seems appropriate today.

Mix together: 

  • The juice of one lemon, one lime and one orange. (If you don’t have one of these on hand, simply leave it out.)
  • A generous pinch of the following: cumin, coriander, paprika, and chili powder, plus salt and pepper
  • A big splash of olive oil
  • A drizzle of honey
  • If you have it on hand–and you’re feeling loco–a big splash of tequila. 
  • A tsp. or two of chipotle sauce (or a chopped chipotle pepper, if you like spice) is also great in this. 

Chipotle is a wonderful foil to sweet, orange veggies, like carrots, butternut squash and sweet potatoes. 

We are on our way to DC and just bought our first house in awhile. I’m so happy. Happy to be moving to civilization, happy to be in a Democratically-controlled state, happy not to be living on a base and happy to be living with parks and trails and pools nearby. It happens to be super-close to a very highly-rated school, so we really lucked out. I feel thankful.
