The COVID-19 situation in the Pacific Northwest is apparently worse than had been previously known:

The number of King County residents infected with the novel coronavirus climbed to at least 10 Sunday, including a second death.

Health authorities warned the number of cases of COVID-19 would likely rise and acknowledged new research indicating the infection may have been spreading undetected in the region for weeks.

Local health officials announced a total of seven new cases on Sunday. One of them — a 70-year-old patient at  EvergreenHealth — died, and the remaining six, ranging in age from their 40s to their 90s, were in critical condition.  A patient in his 50s at EvergreenHealth died Friday, the first COVID-19 related fatality in the U.S.

Four of the new cases, including the man who died Saturday, involved residents from Life Care, a skilled nursing facility in Kirkland. All suffered from underlying health issues, according to health department officials.

And a major reason seems to be that the President of the United States is an authoritarian reality show host whose brain turned into Big Mac special sauce three years ago:

Hillary just didn’t inspire me, though.
