Seems About Right
You can’t deny he’d be carrying on an important Republican tradition:
House Freedom Caucus founder Jim Jordan – a conservative firebrand from Champaign County – announced Thursday that he’ll run for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Should the American people entrust us with the majority again in the 116th Congress, I plan to run for Speaker of the House to bring real change to the House of Representatives,” said a statement Jordan released through a spokesman. “President Trump has taken bold action on behalf of the American people,” his statement continued. “Congress has not held up its end of the deal, but we can change that. It’s time to do what we said.”
The job’s current occupant – Wisconsin’s Paul Ryan – is not seeking reelection in November. Several other Republicans who are currently in the GOP leadership ranks – such as Republican leader Kevin McCarthy of California and Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana – have also indicated interest in succeeding him.
“If an admitted sexual predator can be president, surely someone who just looked the other way while someone assaulted and harassed the athletes he was responsible for can be Speaker of the House!”
…it’s like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a coach who will actually speak up about the abuse one student athlete after another is telling him about:
2 years ago, Jim Jordan issued a statement against transgender bathrooms citing that he wanted to protect kids from "dangerous situations" in bathrooms and locker rooms.
