Do You Like a Movie that Is Objectively Bad?

Oh hai, I’m Catherine Zeta Jones and I’m inexplicably playing Julia Roberts’ sister plus I can’t do an American accent to save my life.

I mean, I know the characterization of “objectively” is tricky, but let’s put it this way: Do you like any movies that you suspect just aren’t that good but find yourself watching them anyway?

I’ve watched “America’s Sweethearts” more times than I’d care to admit, and it’s a mediocre, tepid, largely unfunny romantic “comedy.” But for some reason I just keep watching it. Perhaps it’s because I like John Cusack, Julia Roberts and Billy Crystal. Perhaps I’m just weird. Sometimes I find comedies that I’ve seen repeatedly comforting.

I maintain that the first 45 minutes of “Mr. Wrong” are delightfully silly. But it’s not a good movie. Yet I can’t stop watching Bill Pullman act like a COMPLETE MANIAC and Ellen Denegeres reacting to the mania. Is there something wrong with me?
