Travel, if you live in the Only City in America, carries certain risks. Will you be able to get a stale Kaiser roll with margarine wrapped in cellophane? A slice of pizza with Hunt’s tomato sauce, utility-grade processed mozzarella and canned mushrooms that’s been sitting under a heat lamp for 40 minutes? Maybe not. But, still, sometimes breaking routine is good! You may consider visiting “Los Angeles,” an obscure, dusty burg on the west coast of the United States.

Many visitors to Los Angeles are unaware that the city has a vibrant culture scene that’s inexpensive to explore. For example, the many small theater houses that run high-quality shows, which offer discounted tickets through ticketing sites like Plays411.com — in some cases up to half-off.

It is well known that Los Angeles is a city lacking in culture, politics, or philanthropy. Still, for reasons I don’t quite understand there seem to be actors, writers and diretcors hanging around who put on theater productions. Check Trip Advisor for more.

Actually, in a new innovation a lot of this isn’t even so much NYC provincialism as “assuming your readers are complete idiots”:

Los Angeles is infamous for its never-ending traffic, and driving around the city is usually a painful process. And if you’re staying at a hotel, daily parking fees can add up quickly. Avoid aggravation and save money by relying on Uber, Lyft or other ridesharing services as your primary means of transportation. They “are very efficient to use and affordable,” Mr. Ilves said. “Plus, being chauffeured around town is a true luxury.”

“As a resident of New York City, you are presumably unfamiliar with traffic snarls, expensive parking, or so-called ‘ridesharing services.'” The rain on your wedding day is that LA in fact has a very good subway system that is highly useful to tourists, although admittedly it won’t make you feel like royalty like sitting in traffic in the backseat of a 2012 Toyota Corolla.

Also, did you know that you can check hotel prices in advance, and it’s more expensive to get lodging on summer weekends or during the Oscars? News you can use!
