Guess who still isn’t taking “No. Go away.” for an answer?
Not that sleaze bucket, this slime bag.
“The Democratic primary is always an interesting situation, right? There are about 5 million voters in New York City, there are about 8 million people in New York City, and about 1 million people vote in the Democratic primary. So it’s not, necessarily, representative of the city at large,” Cuomo told Kramer in an exclusive interview the day after the election. “That’s why I qualified for an independent line in November, I did that several months ago, because in the general election, more people come out to vote. It’s a broader pool, if you will, of New Yorkers, more representative pool of New Yorkers.”
The votes of primary voters don’t represent real voters because they’re a little too into this whole voting thing. At least when the primary voters don’t vote the way Cuomo wants them to. Because you know this unrepentant assgrab wouldn’t be gibbering about representative New Yorkers if he had won.
Here’s N.Y. Attorney General Leticia James’ report on how Cuomo repeatedly stalked, harassed and groped women and then had his minions punish them if they complained. Just in case someone has forgotten why the former governor of New York is a former governor, and why the fact that he dares to show his face in public, much less try to ooze his way back into elected office is proof that he is unfit. And please, anyone who is about to type something about shamelessness being a superpower: Go lick a boot, you’ll feel much better.
“I want to look at all the numbers as they come in and analyze the rank choice voting. I will then consult with my colleagues on what is the best path for me to help the City of New York,
Walk into the Hudson. Keep walking? Just a thought.
But enough from the serial sex pest for now. Here’s Roy Edroso on the election, complete with some stiff jabs at the eminently punchable Rod Dreher.
Regular readers know I lived most of my life in New York and love it in the bittersweet way of exile. So the mayoral primary victory of Zohran Mamdani delights me. One reason is that he has been opposed by the worst people alive – not just rich fucks in the city, but also reactionaries across the country and even around the world, as seen in Rod Dreher’s dispatch from whatever European foodie tour he’s presently on.
Dreher claims that “the parts of the city that voted Mamdani are the whitest, [and] those that voted Cuomo are, for the most part, the most non-white,” not because it portrays reality (Mamdani took Harlem, Lefferts Gardens, Fort Greene, Crown Heights, Cypress Hills for fuck’s sake – Cuomo took the Upper East Side by double digits!) but because “Liberals Are The Real Racists” is part of his shtick.
Also, being obsessed with what adults who are not both cisgender and heterosexual do with their genitals, but I didn’t follow the link to see if Rod started in on that. Seems a safe assumption that he did.
Much has been made of the sex pest angle — that voters (as opposed to pundits) were disinclined to forgive and forget the scandals that drove Cuomo from the statehouse. It makes some sense — Bill Clinton’s endorsement seems not to have helped Cuomo, and Anthony Weiner lost his comeback race too.
Wait. Really? Ugh.
It makes still more sense in context: these guys’ antique attitudes toward women are part and parcel of their whole moldy worldview.
As is their refusal to accept that people think they’re gross and are just sick of their faces.
Edroso’s post also includes a link to a brief but rousing speech by the person who flushed Cuomo out of the mansion in Albany. Enjoy.
