On the heels of ESPN welcoming back Hank Williams Jr. to do the Monday Night Football song while Colin Kaepernick remains without a job, it’s great to see those involved in the 2004 Super Bowl Breastgate get a second chance on the Super Bowl halftime show.

Justin Timberlake is finalizing a deal to be the halftime performer at this season’s Super Bowl, according to US Weekly.

The 36-year-old would be making a return appearance at the Super Bowl, which will be held Feb. 4 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Timberlake already has a moment in Super Bowl halftime history for the part he played in the notorious “Wardrobe Malfunction.”

Oh, wait, it’s just Timberlake. Janet Jackson is of course nowhere to be found. Yes, I am too am shocked the white guy gets a second chance while the black woman finds her career utterly destroyed, even though it was Timberlake who ripped her clothing. In this meritocracy? Amazing! The fact that this incident effectively ended Janet’s career is still outrageous, nearly 14 years later.

In related news, doing research in recently opened archives from early 21st century politicians leads to special finds such as letters to Congresscritters outraged by Janet Jackson’s breasts.

What a country.
