Open Thread on What Is to Be Done?

LGM reader asks:

Can someone please explain what we should do to help with down ballot races? If I have $100 to give, who or what should I give to? This advice is curiously absent in all the discussions of how we need to concentrate on flipping the Senate and House given that Hillary looks to be far ahead.

I’m going to throw this out to the crowd, see what kinds of arguments people come up with. I do think it’s a danger to assume a Clinton victory (notwithstanding the current lead and Trump’s ongoing problems), but a lead is a lead and it should affect calculations on appropriate action.
