Some Thursday links…

  • Every time I read an article about economic inequality at Rolling Stone, I find the comment section is absolutely inundated with wingnuts. It’s the same in this case. This article seems designed simply to troll them. I’m not an economist, so I don’t know if any of these ideas have any actual merit, but I agree with Amanda Marcotte here: anytime we can move the Overton Window a bit, that’s probably a good thing.
  • In other news, Lena Dunham is not giving wingnuts a boner. I guess she should go crawl in a hole and die or something. Also, could someone tell me what a “traditional” body type is?
  • A pet peeve of mine is the idea that atheists can’t experience wonder. Here’s a great counter to that: read An Atheist at the Grand Canyon.
  • Origami Isopod wonders if the anarcho-capitalists are being trolled here: should we be able to own the atmosphere?
