Kippie Awards
By Voting is open at The Poor Man Institute for the 2006 Kippie Awards for Excellence in Wingnuttery. Tough competition this year so far — Shelby Steele is narrowly leading Hugh Hewitt for “Wank of the Year,” while Richard Cohen (with two entries in “The Purple Teardrop with Cluthced Pearls Cluster”) is thoroughly trouncing the deserving Deborah Howell.
I was torn in the “Palme d’Haire” category — there were so, so many good times with Ben Domenech, and the the Lee Siegel trainwreck was fantastic. But in the end, it was this YouYube vlog that tipped my vote to Pam Oshry. (Golden line: “Why do they hate Bolton so?”)
