erobin makes a good point about Willie Randolph; whatever other quibbles one may have about his managing, his general disdain for LaRussian platoon wankery is a relief. One of the reasons the ’94 Expos are my favorite team evah, besides my tragic sense of life, is that Alou didn’t have any lefties in his bullpen; he threw his best pitchers out there and let them pitch, and amazingly had the best record and ERA in baseball. I really hope this backlash against using 6 pitchers to make sure that the Brewers don’t get a slight platoon edge and come back from a 5-run deficit in June takes off…
