This looks relatively promising:

TAKING THE RED-BAIT: George Clooney will direct and star in Goodnight and Good Luck, a feature about news anchor Edward R. Murrow’s on-air confrontations with Senator Joseph McCarthy in the 1950s, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

I rather liked Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, although it had some obvious problems. Paranoid delusions are only interesting for a while, and murder mysteries with four characters, two of whom are murdered, tend to fall flat. Nonetheless, it had some very strong elements that make me think well of Clooney’s directorial ability. I also dearly love him as an actor, and I can only assume that he’ll play Murrow. I’m excited to find out who will play McCarthy and Cohn.
