Annals of Whoredom
It’s not exactly news that Garfield is a commercial and critical bomb (and I thought Bill Murray was slumming when he did that elephant thing!) Apparently the film rights to Hi and Lois were too expensive. I can understand why a lot of terrible movies get made, but what the hell was the perceived market for this?
Anyway, I note that, to follow up on his thumbs-up to Van Helsing, Roger Ebert has given this walking punchline a three-star review. Is there anything he doesn’t like? You know you’re going downhill when Richard Roeper upholds your show’s standards.
