I’m not sure if McArdle is clueless or is laughing at all the journalists who have lost their jobs when big capital decides to buy up, say, an irreverent sports site and then it all falls apart when they are clueless and everyone gets fired or quits in disgust.
I am surprised that no one has thought to point out to journalists that–given the parlous business model of our industry–one of the heaviest casualties of a stringent wealth tax would be journalism jobs.

If there’s one thing we know, it’s that the New Gilded Age has truly led to a panoply of great journalistic outfits thanks to our corporate overlords!
No matter though, the entirety of the Beltway media will soon be descending upon her house for her legendary holiday party. Clearly the chumminess of working together in the Beltway is far more important than morals or principle or hanging out with people who have a shred of decency.
