Announcement: Book Club!

I’m very excited to announce that my first academic book, People Must Live By Work: Direct Job Creation in America, from FDR to Reagan, officially hits shelves today, September 4th! (You can buy a copy here and here, hint hint.)

So to celebrate this long-awaited milestone, starting next week, Lawyers, Guns, and Money will be hosting an online book club. Once per week, I’ll put up a post talking about one chapter from the book: summarizing the argument, talking about the inspiration for the chapter, the research and writing process, the lessons that each chapter taught me about current public policy, and of course I’ll be participating in the comment threads. I look forward to talking about my work with you all.

Also, for those of you in the New York City area, CUNY’s School of Labor and Urban Studies will be hosting a book party in about a month – exact date and discussants to be determined soon – so I’ll be keeping people up to date about that going forwards.
