Trump’s New York state chair, everyone!

Carl Paladino, Trump’s New York state co-chairman, a former gubernatorial candidate who had his own scandals over sexism and racism, said Trump’s “gutter talk” was something “all men do, at least all normal men.”

“The only people concerned with this are Hillary people right now and the treacherous ones in the Republican Party,” Paladino said. “The people in America look at this and say it’s another day in the life of Donald Trump. It doesn’t matter to them.”

Trump’s plan to carry New York seems to be going about as well as it ever has.

It’s going to be the most interesting last month ever in the history of Presidential elections. Yesterday morning my social media feed was relatively quiet about it – quite a few lefties sharing articles about it but not much more. But this morning the Revenge of the Wingnut is in full force. Everything they’ve every said about any Democrat ever is being brought up to counter this, plus a bunch of whole new memes about how, for example, Trump’s actions aren’t that bad because so many women read 50 Shades of Grey.

      • Trump’s actions aren’t that bad because so many women read 50 Shades of Grey.

I assume that 50 Shades of Orange is already hitting the presses.

        Consensually.

  • So according to Palladino, normal men are predators. Really, you’d think women would be just better off without them. I mean, didn’t Trump himself put it best when he said that men working and living together with women was bound to lead to sexual assault? Segregate the sinful sexes!

Trump: a walking emblem of toxic masculinity.

    • John not McCain

Paladino enjoys watching women have sex with animals. Not a shock that one notorious pervert would support another.

Must have taken superhuman effort for him to finish that sentence without a string of homophobic slurs.

I’m missing how this is projection. He’s not saying that Democrats (or some generic “other”) do this – he’s saying that he does this, and it’s perfectly normal behavior.

I learned from a Trump supporter interviewed on a Daily Show segment that Soros owns the company that makes most of the voting machines.

        • Juicy_Joel

you left out the best part

          13. My prediction of a 98% chance of Trump winning stays the same. Clinton just took the fight to Trump’s home field. None of this was a case of clever strategy or persuasion on Trump’s part. But if the new battleground is spousal fidelity, you have to like Trump’s chances.

          • CrunchyFrog

This guy is hilarious – but in this case unwittingly. He has said from the beginning he’s voting Clinton, but it’s become painfully obvious that this was a lie intended to shield him from (even more) criticism from non-neanderthals. Exactly like Pat Caddell claiming he’s a Democrat based on some work he did in 1976 for Carter. Since then his writing has become increasingly shrill as he desperately wants Trump to win.

            • Harkov311

Heck, Rick Perry was a Democrat (in name anyway) as recently as 1988, when he endorsed Al Gore (no joke) in the primaries.

Incidentally, has anyone ever asked Rick Perry if he voted for Dukakis that fall? Because that would just be hilarious as hell.

            • science_goy

I believe he said he was voting for Clinton because he would fear for his life if he didn’t. The right-wing martyr complex at its finest.

          • Harkov311

So what, I wonder, will all these people who are so confident that Trump will win (Scott Adams, Michael Moore, etc) going to say when he loses?

            • He was robbed, of course. (Michael Moore? Really???)

              • Harkov311

Really, Michael Moore. He’s predicting it with gloom and despair, but he’s still predicting it. He’s also said to ignore they polls showing Trump losing, they’re wrong (why we should believe they’re wrong he doesn’t say).

Then again, he also predicted a Romney victory in 2012, also assuring us that all the indicators to the contrary didn’t matter. Maybe he’s just a natural pessimist.

                • (((Hogan)))

I wonder if he comments here as ProgressiveLiberal.

                • CrunchyFrog

His prediction was basically Bradley Effect on steroids. That all of the whites were going to vote Trump regardless of what they tell the pollsters. And that it’s because Trump is the first politician except Sanders to say he was going to take down the elites and address the financial problems of the working class.

                • (((Hogan)))

Because “whites” and “the elite” are completely disjunct sets.

        • Scott Adams is saying women *like* it (#7)

One can only speculate about the court appearances and restraining orders that await him.

Trump wasn’t running for Pope. He never claimed moral authority.

I’m seeing this reaction from a lot of Trump apologists (admittedly there aren’t a lot of such apologists). Funny how they weren’t saying that when Bill was president.

          • Funny how they weren’t saying that when Bill was president.

But Bill, and Hillary, and all of us other lieberals, do claim moral authority! We’re always telling the racists and rapists and Regular Guys that they’re being Politically Incorrect!!

        • trnc

          Adams:

Trump wasn’t running for Pope. He never claimed moral authority. His proposition has been that he’s an asshole (essentially), but we need an asshole to fight ISIS, ignore lobbyists, and beat up Congress.

Not sure I understand. Adams is an asshole, too, but that doesn’t make me believe he’s qualified to be prez. Or is that because Adams is also a douchebag with Bill Kristol’s powers of prognostication? Hmmm … Nope, still doesn’t work.

          • N__B

Why wasn’t Trump running for Pope? Surely absolute moral authority over a billion people is more interesting than partial temporal authority over fewer than a third of a billion.

Scruffing is usually recommended. Though one of mine goes ballistic if you do that.

      • Solar System Wolf

Actually, scruffing is falling out of favor. I volunteer at the animal shelter, and we’re taught there to wrap the entire cat in a towel so all of its limbs are pinned. Don’t anyone tell Trump that — he’ll think it’s a new assault technique.

        • Solar System Wolf

          Or dating technique. Same thing.

  • JMP

Why do so many misogynists also completely hate straight men so much? No, dickhead – and all the other Trump apologists who keep claiming that all men do the same – as a matter of fact the vast majority of us never brag about committing sexual assault and getting away with it; most men are not completely vile disgusting excuses for human beings who would do such a thing. Why are you hideously slandering men like this?

But hey, we’ve found some actual examples of that misandry that the MRAs are always whining about.

    • Gregor Sansa

I (falsely) bragged about attempting sexual assault and kinda getting away with it. When I was 9, to my 10-year-old cousin, whom I was visiting in Japan. It’s one of my most shameful memories.

Trump was, of course, 59. Yet the only thing that would turn what he did from abhorrent to merely ceaselessly cringeworthy would be if he had been as clueless as my 9-year-old self was.

It may be a thing boys do, because they think it’s a thing men do. But we have to build a society where not only do men not do that, but boys know they don’t. Roundly rejecting Trump is one necessary step to that society.

  • pianomover

    So here’s my question.

How will Hillary respond to Trumps accusations about Bill’s behavior?

    I haven’t a clue.

    • Severian

“My husband isn’t eligible to be President, and neither are you, Donald.”

    • AMK

Monica consented, and none of the other accusations have a shred of proof beyond the RW nutosphere.

    • CrunchyFrog

We know that she’s been practicing for this for months, and was ready for it in the first debate.

The thing to understand is that just as Trump supporters don’t give a rat’s ass about anything he says or does, no one actually cares about anything (with one exception) that Bill Clinton did, no matter how much they may claim they do care. Hillary knows this, so it’s not an attack that needs a lot of time to answer.

The one exception is Juanita Broderrick. She wasn’t given a big payoff by the right wing attack squad, unlike the others, and her story doesn’t have inconsistencies or other problems. People who knew her at the time have reported that she did say she’d been assaulted by Clinton when it happened. So if Trump brings that up an artful response will be required, since Bill is actively campaigning for Hillary now.

      • (((Hogan)))

We know that she’s been practicing for this for months, and was ready for it in the first debate.

WE know that. Trump and his supporters don’t. They think she’s as lazy as he is and doesn’t do any actual prep, so when he springs this on her she’ll be taken by surprise, smite her forehead and fall back in a swoun, and Game Over Libtards.

      • Harkov311

The one exception is Juanita Broderrick.

My understanding is that she signed an affidavit saying the incident didn’t happen, then kept telling other people that it actually did happen. I guess I find it odd that, given the opportunity to go on the legal record to say it happened, she refused.

      • Well, part of the response will be as follows: “Bill is neither running for nor eligible to be president, and you have a pending trial for raping a thirteen-year-old who has a witness backing up her statements under oath.”

      • cpinva

“The one exception is Juanita Broderrick. She wasn’t given a big payoff by the right wing attack squad, unlike the others, and her story doesn’t have inconsistencies or other problems.”

yes, it does. she’s never been deposed/questioned under oath and, as noted below, she’s been on again/off again with this allegation for over 30 years. my guess is that it didn’t happen. if it did, she’s managed to mangle her own credibility so much in the intervening years, only the Trump “true believers” are going to believe her. if Pres. Clinton actually did sexually assault her, he should be fried, regardless of what I think of him. that said, I’ve always been under the impression that he’s one of these guys that women throw themselves on, he has no need to stoop to assault.

    • vic rattlehead

Meanwhile there’s this fantastic story about young Hillary Clinton and baby bunnies, apologies if already posted:

    http://crooksandliars.com/2016/10/right-wing-blog-charges-young-hillary-was

    • Donalbain

That is such a great story. “Hillary is so evil and cruel that she defends baby animals!”

  • So, Giuliani went on TV saying “sure, it’s bad, and yes, it’s sexual assault unless he was exaggerating, but you know men say stuff like this and men exaggerate, so who knows what really happened? Anyway, he’s really really sorry, and besides Bill Clinton did worse and Hillary attacked his victims, so if anything Hillary ‘s worse”

Looks like a preview of Trump’s approach to this in the debate. How he will balance playing the role of a contrite penitent who sinned 11 years ago but sins no more, and the role of a prosecutor nailing Hillary for “enabling” her husband’s own misbehavior (confirmed and alleged), remains to be seen.

    • Snarki, child of Loki
