Andrew Breitbart has twelve hours to prove he’s not a liar
Remember how, exactly three weeks ago today, Andrew Breitbart claimed that he would “take down the institutional left within three weeks”? I wonder how that’s going. Before I left for the office this morning, I could still suffer through three hours of Morning Joe, and when I checked the website a few seconds ago, I could still reach Rachel Maddow’s blog. (Nor are any of his blogs trumpeting his victory.) How long do we have to wait before we can hire a tweeting-retracting mountain camel to start demanding a correction from him?

Not so fast, young man. As of 3 pm Eastern time, March 16, 2010, Media Matters has folded its tent, the New York Times has filed for bankruptcy, the far-left CNN has hired Erick Erickson, and only a last-minute influx of $5 billion from George Soros is keeping the New America Foundation from failing to meet payroll.
If Slate and The New Republic fall by midnight tonight, I’d say that Breitbart can put up that “Mission Accomplished” banner.
Truly we are doomed.
Yes, but if you and I are still around, he can’t have succeeded, as we’re both part of institutional liberalism. (Just ask the students I spent all day indoctrinating.)
Well, it’s tomorrow already, and j’y suis, j’y reste, to coin a phrase. Looks like Maddow and Stewart are coming in loud and clear, too. The crisis has passed! Though we did lose The Atlantic during the night.
I don’t think it’s right to call Breitbart a “liar,” though. He was simply making a prediction, just as I have St. Mary’s in the Elite Eight in the LGM bball pool. I propose we think of him as a “miserable failure” instead.
Andrew Breitbart has had forty-one years to prove he’s not a liar. I kinda doubt he’s gonna turn it all around in half a day.
Pssst! Tell all of them to be on the lookout for an angry caveman trying to sneak into their offices dressed as a 1970s movie pimp and flashing the middle finger around.
institutional left…..Morning Joe
I know you’re being funny, but please don’t validate this meme.
I wrote “suffering” for a reason, and it’s not to validate something that’s not true.
All quiet on the Eastern Liberal Elitist Front.
4 hours to go, and NPR’s starting to come in a little fuzzy. If I’m only hearing every 4th word from Prairie Home Companion, I think he can call it a partial victory.
WAIT! The Pope of Leftism was covering up for child molesters! EVERYONE HAS QUIT LEFTISM!
It’s already tomorrow on my side of the world. Breitbart FAIL!
I was just thinking everyone should ignore Breitbart — his sole pleasure in life is trolling liberals. Of course SEK’s sole pleasure in life is being trolled by liberal-haters, so this would be too much to ask for him. But everyone else should ignore Breitbart.
Has Breitbart reached the Althouse/Swank point yet of being too obviously fucked in the head to feel good about mocking? I’m starting to think so.
You guys don’t seem to get the concept of a Friedman Unit. At the end of the three weeks Breitbart gets to say the same thing again and the three weeks starts all over again. He can do this as many times as he wants and then everyone just forgets he ever said it.
Said what?
