Newport

Sorry for the light blogging. I’ve been in Newport, Rhode Island, doing a bit of work for the Navy. In light of my time here, I’d like to retract any and all allegations regarding Rhode Island’s unsightliness.

I’m working on “Cooperative Security: ‘Defending’ America the Hippie Way”. My predecessor at the Patterson School, Eugene Gholz, is a known offshore balancer, and recently had an op-ed in the NYT. I tend to regard offshore balancing as the foreign policy equivalent of libertarianism, fun to think about as long as you don’t ever consider doing it, but Gholz makes some good points.
