I did a podcast with Dave Kaufman, Montreal sports journalist and former deeply engaged fan of the city’s now long-departed major league baseball team, the Expos.
The subject is my book, A Fan’s Life: The Agony of Victory and the Thrill of Defeat, which is officially being published on September 5th, but which I’m told is actually available already if you are inclined to order a copy, which I hope you are.
As I told Dave, I’m sorry I didn’t discuss the phenomenon of having your team up and leave you, like a woman in a song. I haven’t had the former thing happen to me, but we found common ground in agreeing that there’s no replacing the original love affair.
