Montana Senate Race–Special Request Post

Our friend Burning Ambulance sent me an ad by a left Democrat running for the Democratic primary in Montana. He asked for a discussion and anyone who puts out huge numbers of obscure Russian jazz albums gets special dispensation here. What do you need to do to get special privileges at LGM? Well, there’s your bar.

Sam Forstag, a Bernie Sanders-endorsed Democratic candidate for Senate, has the first ad of the cycle out.

Montana has an open Senate seat and an open House seat this cycle; it’s gonna be interesting, I think. The former president of the University of Montana is running as an independent, which I find annoying, but he’s raising more money than anybody else. Ryan Busse, who ran for governor last year and lost (I voted for him), is now running for the House rather than just get a job.

My gut tells me (or maybe I’m just wishing) that it could be a real contest – I live in Flathead County, one of the reddest counties in Montana, and I don’t see a single MAGA hat or Trump flag flying anywhere anymore. People are PISSED.

There are a few other Montanan commenters – I’d be interested to see what they think.

So here you go. What do you think? My one thought–no politician should come out of the Clintonian school of Professional Democrat anymore. Everyone hates these people. Authenticity might be bullshit, but people like it so what are you going to do? Smokejumper? Cool, why not.
