I don’t think it’s really possible to grasp the full depth of Trump’s narcissism, psychopathy, and always always sheer crude venality.

Jonathan Karl:

This morning, I asked President Trump if he’s okay with the Iranians charging a toll for all ships that go through the Strait of Hormuz, he told me there may be a Joint US-Iran venture to charge tolls: “We’re thinking of doing it as a joint venture. It’s a way of securing it — also securing it from lots of other people.” “It’s a beautiful thing”

The US has gone to war so that Trump and his minions can make money via market manipulation and straight-up bribery. It seems reasonable to Trump to kill a man’s entire family and then propose that man enter into a “great business deal” with “the hottest country in the world” (That’s the USA by the way: among Trump’s many disgusting verbal tics one of the most disgusting is referring to the nation of which he is president as if it were a 1970s New York City disco or a Bradenton Florida timeshare development).

As a purely practical matter, the Iranians will probably be able to charge massive tolls for passage through the Strait, because they may well have mined it, and ships won’t be able to get through without an escort. Trump thinks of all this as a business opportunity, because that’s how he thinks of everything, from exploiting the presidency of the United States as the world’s most massive grift, to fucking his own daughter. Trump of course hasn’t given a nanosecond’s thought to what charging massive tolls to go through the Strait will do to food and energy prices.

Meanwhile his shrinking base of moron supporters continue to support him, mainly because they’re as greedy and stupid as he is, although a lot of them think they love Jesus, and America too.
