The American Retrospective voter
By This public opinion trend, building for a while, is both encouraging and intensely sobering:
The voters who put Trump over the top basically thought they were voting for 2019 prices again plus tighter border security. (In fairness, even the rare swing voter who pays much attention to the mainstream press could well have gotten this impression too.) They are definitely not getting what they wanted and are unhappy. If the election were re-held today Harris whatever her flaws wins easily. But RFK Jr alone will do an enormous amount of damage that can’t be undone, and there’s plenty more where that came from. It really is of imperative importance that Democrats do everything they can to take the Senate and minimize the further long-term impact of Trump 2.0 by blocking judicial appointments.
