Iran Again

Fresh off his victories in Greenland and Minnesota, Donald Trump has decided to get Iran into line. He is moving an aircraft carrier group into position to attack Iran.
Why Iran, you might ask. Here’s the latest of what Trump says:
A few weeks back, he said he wanted to bomb Iran because the regime there was killing protesters. It may have been that that came too close to home, or it may have been that it takes longer to move an aircraft carrier group into position than it does to draw it with a Sharpie. Anyhow, he didn’t.
So we’re back to Obama-envy. Trump trashed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in his first term, promising a much better agreement. But the JCPOA was an excellent agreement, more than most experts had expected could be achieved. And, of course, Trump had no idea what it contained, namely a way to make sure that Iran would not build nuclear weapons.
The Biden administration couldn’t bring the JCPOA back after Trump destroyed any reason for Iran to trust the United States, and here we are.
Beyond Obama-envy, Trump assured us that he had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program when he bombed them several months back, along with Israel. And the Iranian government has sassed him back and said they’ll rebuild. Not acceptable!
Trump’s ignorant bullying is the opposite of what was done in negotiatiating the JCPOA. He may need the dopamine hit that bombing Iran would give him. It will further prove to the world that the US has become a mindless bully.
