Top military personnel “retiring” all over the place

In addition to what Cheryl noted below, the head of the JAG abruptly retired effective today. She — yes, one of those people — is/was technically the. Deputy Judge Advocate General, but was the Acting TJAG (this is the top position in the JAG).
I guess this isn’t public info yet. My source adds:
She was never going to get promoted to TJAG in the current regime. Woman, ties to Slife (other fired general), and she had a sort of keynote speech on ethical drift, on how organizations lose their way, so…yeah.
A Guard guy is taking over in the interim. He’s at least been in the leadership circle for some time. Rumor is that they’ve tapped an OK Guard guy take over, but there’s been no nomination yet.
I guess they might be content to leave us headless, rather than appointing a leader they think they can do business with. In line with just bypassing us and going to OLC for deciding these attacks are legal.
I mean, I guess being ignored is better than being co-opted?
Not really the main issue here, but there’s a whole inner circle of up and comers who got key jobs at the Pentagon at various points in their career and were being groomed for big things. Now, they’re just kind of floating out there, both because their patrons are gone and because no one is filling the void.
I guess I feel better for just avoiding that five sided hell.
Furthermore:
Didn’t see it mentioned but the Air Force Global Strike Commander (aka nukes) who was nominated to be the #2 in the USAF retired the day of the Hegseth speech.
No idea how this plays out. Good to see people with power signaling disagreement. But there’s always a replacement esp if you give zero fucks about quality.
I know i joined post Iraq so I had no illusions about the fact that we could some bad shit, this is still disillusioning.
