It’s also worth remembering that this strikes would be illegal and indefensible even if there were actual evidence against the victims:
It’s outrageous they’re killing innocent people, but we also need to stress, every time, that it would not really matter even it were absolutely certain that they were drug traffickers. Murdering criminals is still, you know, murder.

Among other things, this is another example of the total breakdown of institutional checks and balances, and war powers were among the first that Congress abdicated.
