SCOTUS upholds Tennessee law banning gender affirming care for minors

I don’t have a lot to say about this, since John Roberts’s argument is literally that the law doesn’t target transgender minors — which would at least require a remand of the case, to determine if it involves unconstitutional gender discrimination — but rather minors with gender dysphoria. Identical treatments for minors without gender dysphoria remain legal in Tennessee.

Even Roger Taney didn’t argue that the fugitive slave laws didn’t target black people, bur rather only slaves. Or at least I don’t remember him making that argument (It’s been awhile. At this rate we may have to go back and check pretty soon).
