Don’t do unpaid crisis management for Elon Musk

We’re going to see a lot of this kind of thing as Elon continues his Please Don’t Talk About What I Did or What I Am Still Doing and What I Will Do world tour:

Takes a lot of chutzpah to make a $290 million political donation, assume a powerful position in government, use that power to fire tens of thousands of people and do immeasurable harm to American state capacity, and expect not to have to answer for it afterwards.

Here’s the thing: if you’re any kind of political show and he’s only willing to talk about his stupid Mars idea or whatever, don’t book him. If he says he will discuss politics of substantive public interest and then reneges, stop the interview. Don’t let him pull this “I am just a smol bean who had nothing to do with the decisions of Mister Trump” routine. This is the world’s richest man literally taking away life saving medication and food from hundreds of thousands of people in exchange for no material benefits whatsoever!
