There are officially at least two Trump cabinet members who don’t believe in germ theory. In the case of the angry drunk in charge of the Pentagon, this is literally because he cannot see them with the naked eye:

Trump’s war on science has many dimensions, including an apparent nostalgia for the time when surgery made health problems worse rather than better. (I wonder when Ron DeSantis is going to propose making it illegal for people who work in restaurants to wash their hands.) And remember that virtually the entire Republican conference supported both of these assholes.
