What Shall We Call Them? Followup
By Okay, good point. In trying to cover the wide range of bigotry of the anti-DEIA folks, I got caught in another of those asymmetries. If I just turn around their bigotries, it’s still based on inherent characteristics, not the bigotry.
I’m still looking for a short label that captures their extreme fear of and desire to hurt women, people of color, the disabled, and LGBTQ+ people. Most of the alternatives suggested don’t bring out all of those prejudices. “White supremacy” maybe comes the closest to the mindset, but it most strongly connotes bigotry toward people of color, much less the rest.
