Where Are The Professors? Where Is The AAUP?
By Those are honest questions. I don’t know much about the politics of the Florida community college and university systems.
Ron DeSantis is gutting Florida’s higher education system. He has appointed Christopher Rufo, who has bragged about using CRT as a moral panic to stoke his objectives of turning education into indoctrination, and a number of people with similar ideas, to the state higher education board. They have said they intend to turn Florida’s New College into a clone of Hillsdale, Michigan’s repressive Christianist college. Every day brings another announcement.
It looks like we’ve found the the college presidents – lining up to kiss DeSantis’s ass.
I recall a time when the AAUP (American Association of University Professors) would easily protest such moves. Where are they now?
Are we going to see any protest from faculty? Students? Are they okay with this?
