Liotta

Given the centrality of Goodfellas to the culture of this site, I am sure that we will have more to say about the passing of Ray Liotta. I was always surprised that after his brilliant start, not only in Goodfellas but in Field of Dreams (a terrible movie but a good performance), that he would be someone we would see him everywhere and then, unlikely almost every other person Scorsese cast in a lead role, that didn’t happen. Scorsese didn’t use him again either, which I always wondered about. But he was still good when he got solid roles, such as in Marriage Story as one of the divorce lawyers opposite an excellent Laura Dern.
