This astonishing piece of engineering is still a couple of weeks away from the end of its nearly one million mile journey, and about five months from being fully calibrated and operational, but the nerve-wracking task of unfolding the many intricate parts of the instrument is now complete, 25 years after the project’s inception.
What this project will discover is literally unimaginable, which is the whole point of course.
