Nothing like remembering the good times of 1979, when the Iran hostage crisis went down. Here’s an ABC news report six days into the crisis.

This is actually a pretty interesting view into the issue just as its beginning. Two things. First, will you be shocked that Henry Kissinger was a huge asshole who was partially responsible for this? I know I was…… Second, the end, where the reporter says it’s impossible to deal with Iran in a rational or logical way really demonstrates how unprepared the U.S. was for the rise of an Islamic state. I know hindsight changes your view and certainly in the last 42 years we have dealt with a whole lot that makes angry Iranian students seem fairly mild, but if there’s one thing the Iranians very much are not it is irrational or illogical.
