Big time college sports in a buckeye-shaped nutshell

The the Ohio State University Board of Trustees has been meeting for more than eight hours now, regarding the fate of football coach Urban Meyer.
Various people are claiming that the meeting is at an impasse because the university’s president, who is the person who is supposed to make the final decision about Meyer’s future at OSU, wants to suspend him for some number of games, and Meyer — who is actually in the building if not inside the meeting itself — is refusing to accept this punishment.
If this is in fact the case, then the board would seem to have no other option but to either back the president or fire him.
Given Meyer’s winning percentage, I know which way I’m betting.
