For the first time in what seems like years, I smiled when I saw the front page of today’s paper (although the headline was inferior to this one.)

My first questions: Will this cause Trump to cling more stubbornly to the rest of his cronies? Or will he use it as an excuse to shout You’re fired at a few more people who haven’t been performing or dressing up to whatever standard he has that day?

That’s because I’m a bad Inside the Beltwayer. The question I should be asking is who will he bring in to replace Flynn?

I’ve seen Pillow Talk Petraeus’ name several times, which would be nonsense, if we were talking about a political party that wasn’t the GOP. And indeed, CNN has a piece on three likely replacements, including Petraeus and Keith Kellogg, who was Flynn’s No. 2 and is now acting NS adviser.

While normally one might discuss experience (and lack of ties with Russia), with tRump it will come down to whoever is the best at kissing his ass and not making him feel inferior. Kellogg hitched his wagon to DJT’s red dwarf during the campaign, so he’s Loyal. But according to the article, retired Vice Admiral Bob Harward, is the top contender. Who knows.

Maybe he’ll try to stick Bannon in there. Or one of the kids. Is Erik Prince still hanging around?
