By Apparently the Brewers read Scott’s breakdown of the balance of power in the NL Central, and determined that they could more than afford to start the season in a three game hole to the Reds. Two takeaways from the series:
- Travis Wood looked absolutely dominant in Saturday’s game. The Reds will need Wood to be solid in the absence of Cueto and the de facto absence of Volquez.
- The crowd on Saturday was huge, and more enthusiastic than any Reds crowd I’ve ever seen. I’m optimistic that Cincinnati will turn out to support this team this year. The Cincinnati sports dynamic is very odd; Joey Votto should be the prince of the city, but for some reason attention remains fixated on the shipwreck known as the Bengals.
