I believe that Matt has uncovered the ultimate Caitlin Flanagan article; indeed, the scale of the self-parody is so deep that if her name wasn’t on the byline I would assume it was a joke. It’s the ultimate in her all-too-imitable brand of sneering, reactionary, and classist anti-feminism: ginning up something called a “blowjob nation” based on random anecdotes and urban legends! Risibly spurious comparisons based on the assumption that if people aren’t talking about sexual behaviors they aren’t doing them! Assuming that performing oral sex is necessarily a grim, degrading sacrifice rather than a mutually pleasurable activity! Using your major social problem that isn’t really a problem and doesn’t really exist to bash feminism! Yick.
