Now that was a great game, one of the best I’ve seen in a long time, and a happy outcome to boot. Congrats to Lorenzo Romar on glorious season.

I noticed throughout that the somewhat dimwitted announcers kept saying Arizona was playing for a potential #1 seed, with the implication being that UW wasn’t. I’m can’t really see why not. They both had five losses, with virtually identical strength of schedule rankings. It seems to me the winner of the game should’ve been a #2 seed, but other than the historic strength of the program, I don’t see any reason to consider Arizona for a #1 and not UW.

Romar is basically the opposite of Neuheisel; taking an underacheiving and troubled program from the inept Bob Bender and making it great, with what I understand is an outstanding recruiting class coming in next year.
