Let’s bring in some old-school strike breakers, like we had in the 30s
The NLRB decided today, in a 3-2, straight party-line vote, to claim that since graduate students are students, they are therefore not employees, even if they perform labor services in exchange for money. I somehow suspect that the university would not accept this logic if I failed to show up for work Monday. I mean, if I’m not an employee, I shouldn’t have to perform labor to get student funding, right?
A reminder that this vote, and many like it, could not have been brought to you without the tireless efforts of Ralph Nader.
