Not Tulsi Time
Now here’s a candidate worthy of a hard pass:
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said Friday she will run for president in 2020.
“I have decided to run and will be making a formal announcement within the next week,” the Hawaii Democrat told CNN’s Van Jones during an interview slated to air at 7 p.m. Saturday on CNN’s “The Van Jones Show.”Gabbard, an Iraq War veteran, currently serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. She is the first American Samoan and the first Hindu member of Congress.
Great:
Like she has fucked up views on issues that 95 percent of primary voters have never heard of, it's almost futuristic

TIL Tulsi Gabbard is
-a former anti-gay activist who still calls homosexuality a "lifestyle"
-part of a breakaway Hare Krishna cult
-a hardcore Assad defender
-a supporter of anti-pluralist Hindu nationalism in Indiahttps://t.co/UMWnbmRBzo— Mark Joseph Stern (@mjs_DC) December 17, 2017
And aside from stuff like her affirmative support for brutal dictators, she has a voting record more conservative than the typical Democrat House member despite representing a very liberal district. She preceded her announcement, appropriately enough, by attacking her state’s actually liberal senator from the right. Dems can and will do a lot better in 2020.
