Needless to say, I have no idea about whether the allegations being made against Brett Kavanaugh are true. They simply deserve to be taken seriously. As Republicans are implicitly conceding:

Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, also released a letter Friday morning from 65 women who said they supported Kavanaugh.

Really, what Supreme Court nominee doesn’t have a list of 65 random women they didn’t sexually assault while attending an all-boys high school lined up?

Still, I’m pretty terrified that these accusations will mean that if confirmed Kavanaugh will be the completely reliable party-line vote he also would have been had he been confirmed by a voice vote after a pro forma hearing.
