My theory is that Bobo’s primary purpose in writing columns these days is to provide material for Pierce. The saddest thing about today’s is that Brooks pretty clearly considers himself one of the elites we should be deferring to. Despite the fact that this kind of mindless deference to (Republican) daddies is what makes him write things like “I still believe that in 20 years, no one will doubt that Bush did the right thing [by invading Iraq.]” I’ll take that bet! In fairness, when our leadership reaches the extraordinarily high quality of George W. Bush, it’s hard not to be deferential. Have we erected a properly power-celebrating (hold the tragedy please!) monument to him in the Mall yet?
